Fine Art Photography
I approach photography with the eye of an Illustrator and a Fine Artist. What drives my work are the essential elements of color, harmony, form, shape and emotional resonance. I prefer to shoot in natural light, looking for random occurrences in nature to peak the imagination.
Animal Portraiture
Animals are one of the first subjects I began shooting with a DSLR camera. A moving subject under changing lighting conditions can be fun and unpredictable. Patience is bred from my love of animals and getting to know them is part of my process. Cats I shoot a lot because I am a volunteer at a shelter. I like shooting all varieties of animals however, and each type requires a different balance of skills. Animals can be beautiful, humorous, unusual and there are never two exactly the same. I can usually find something to like about every one.
